We are looking for CNC Machine Operator

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

✓ Efficiently operate various CNC machines i.e. lathes, mills and grinders.

✓ Cutting metal to conform to the machining drawing provided, utilizing various machine tools

✓ Perform ‘first’ inspection and ensure all parts meet the drawing specifications

✓ Set up, run and testing of programs on machine

✓ Program CNC lathes and vertical machining centres in 2D and 3D

✓ Review existing programs i.e. feed, speeds, set-ups, etc. in an effort to reduce costs

✓ Familiar with Fanuc controls

✓ Standard maintenance of allocated machine

✓ Cleanliness of machine and immediate vicinity

✓ Operate overhead cranes (licensed on site)

✓ Other duties appropriate to this position

QUALIFICATIONS / ABILITIES

✓ Must be able to interpret machining drawings

✓ Able to set up and operate CNC Turning Centers and Machining Centers producing small batch run.

✓ Able to work with close tolerances, typically .001 to .005”

✓ Familiar with the use of standard machine shop instruments (i.e. Micrometers, verniers, DROs, etc)

✓ CNC or Conventional Horizontal Boring Mill experience, as well as Fanuc and Mazatrol Controller experience will be an asset

✓ Ability to supply accurate CNC code to machines using CAM software, i.e. Gibbs Cam

EDUCATION

A minimum High School education; some college or post-secondary would be an asset.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT

✓ Lifting loads of up to 50 lbs.

✓ Able to stand for long periods of time

✓ Clean, bright, air-conditioned machine shop environment
